| Steve and Julie not only run a great gym, they put their hearts and souls into working with all of their clients. I have found that the personal training sessions, the Biggest Winner program, and Julie's Boot Camp classes have amped up my workouts to the point where I am finally seeing results after years of working out. Not only are my workouts more targeted, but they both have taken a real interest in helping me reach my fitness and weight loss goals; I'm still on the journey, but I have lost inches and body fat percentage and I'm more fit than I've been in a long time. I have watched Steve & Julie working with other members, and see the same time and interest put into every person here. Every member of the gym, no matter their age, size, shape, or weight, is treated with respect and dignity, and given the tools to better their health, and more importantly, the support to follow through. Thanks to Steve & Julie's sense of community and personal touches, the gym has become a second home to me, much like the bar in the old Cheers episodes, minus the beer and the sitting down. |

| Dear Julie & Steve, Thank you for the investment you have made in our community. You have devoted much time, effort, and sweat in providing us with a beautiful new gym with varied and interesting equipment that is everything one needs for a great cardio and weight training workout. Thank you for your generosity in making your classes affordable and providing worker-friendly hours. Thank you for your expertise in nutrition, physical fitness and lifestyle management. It's obvious when you come to teach a class, you have spent many hours on research and preparation. You are always well-organized and provide various exercises to accomodate a wide variety of fitness levels-(and you always make it fun.)
One thing I have really appreciated is the wholistic approach to weight management that is based on common sense and simplicity. No diet-no special diet foods. Personally I have taken your advice and may not always choose correctly, but I do think about how long it will take to burn this off and how is it serving me. These lifestyle changes you have taught us have been easy to implement and integrate. I was frustrated with the plateau I was on, but with the knowledge I now have, I have managed to get moving. You have both created a fun, creative program and atmosphere and I appreciate the connections with the other participants. I have felt tremendous support from them and have made a very nice running buddy. You are changing Hardwick, one belly at a time :-)
This experience has changed me in a very deep way. As I feed myslef more lovingly and respectfully, I find I respect myself more. I feel stronger inside as well as out. My running has improved and when I look in the mirror, I feel better about what I see. Thank you so much for all you have given us-for time away from your family, hours researching and preparing, assessments, hours at the gym. Most of all thank you for your commitment and dedication to health and physical fitness and for your deep desire to help others. |

| I have always exercised in some form on a regular basis and read all kinds of fitness magazines. I even taught aerobics way back when. I considered myself to be a fairly knowledgeable 57 year old on workouts and even tried new equipment every now and then. I also did some weight training 1-2 times a week that I designed from information I had gotten off the internet. Besides beginning to get bored, it seemed as though I was losing muscle tone and I was gaining weight that I blamed on menopause. Simply put, I was getting into a rut.......
I had been a member of S & J Fitness for many years but had never taken advantage of any of the classes or training that they offered. But when S & J moved to their new location here in Hardwick, I decided that I too, needed a change. Little did I know just how much of a rut I had gotten into. Julie has taught me so much! She listened to what I wanted out of my training and showed me how to get it. I have lost inches and pounds, but most important, dropped my bodyfat content considerably. People are noticing how fit I look! Julie also gave me back that enthusiasm I had lost for exercise.
S & J also offers seperate classes at a very reasonable cost which are a huge bargain for added training! These clsees have bonded me with other members. We all learn, tone and lose together while having a lot of fun. Julie & Steve encourage healthy lifestyle changes that we can stick with. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful gym with excellent trainers right here in Hardwick. Support our hometown gym and keep them here! And whatever your fitness level, I highly recommend taking some formal training from Julie and Steve &/or join a class that they offer. You too can make every minute of your workout the best it can be for you. I again am looking forward to my time at the gym because I am doing what I have been taught and am seeing huge results! |
