Steve Parker

Steve Parker (the "S" in S & J Fitness) has been in the fitness field for 9 years. After providing an internship for Julie, he decided to keep her around and they have worked together ever since. His friendly personality and sense of humor help to make our hometown gym the low-key, welcoming place that it is. Steve became a personal trainer, after being a logger for many years and experiencing 2 back operations. He brings 1st-hand knowledge of chronic pain issues and has many years of experience assisting others to address their personal injury and pain. Steve loves weight training and developing client-specific programs for our customers.

Steve is an ACE certified Personal Trainer. He also holds special certificates in Dumbell Training and as a Golf Conditioning Specialist.

 
Julie Gallivan Parker

 

Julie Gallivan Parker (the "J" in S & J) has been in the fitness field for 6 years, working side-by-side with her husband Steve. Julie loves working in our friendly hometown gym!  She likes to look at the whole person when working with clients.  Julie brings over 20 years of social work experience to her fitness practice, which is so valuable to support our clients to meet their personal fitness and wellness goals.  Julie lost 110 lbs. and has maintained her weight loss for over 10 years, therefore bringing her own incredible personal experience and setting an example to all she works with.

Julie is a NESTA Certified Personal Trainer and is also Certified in Lifestyle & Weight Management Coaching.  She has a B.S. in Human Services from Springfield College with Graduate credits in the Mental Health field.  Additionally, Julie is a trained mediator and facilitator with many years of experience in group lectures/trainings.
